Rosario Central, with a brace from Ángel Di María, former Benfica winger, won the International Super Cup this Saturday, a domestic Argentine trophy, by beating Estudiantes 3-1 in a final that ended up being marred by scenes of aggression between players from both teams.

The confusion began shortly after Julián Fernández sealed Rosario Central's victory with a goal in the 90+6th minute. Estudiantes, who had been complaining about an alleged penalty not awarded, became even more furious with that goal, which led to assaults and insults between players on the pitch.

With the referee having blown for the end of the game, those violent scenes continued in the tunnel leading to the dressing rooms, and in a video circulating on social media it is possible to see several exchanges of punches between members of the two teams.

"What happened in the final was deplorable. We did nothing for this to happen. They will have their excuses, their things. We are going to enjoy this moment," commented Di María, after scoring a great goal from a direct free kick and completing his brace from the penalty spot in this final.
